Stuck, or found a cut that doesn’t sound right? Email us and a person will reply.
Before you write
- erm needs a Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and a video in .mov, .mp4 or .m4v format.
- The first video downloads erm’s listening model (about 500 MB), so it needs the internet once and takes longer than the ones after it.
- A video with no sound has nothing to listen to. Try another file.
- Every cut is a suggestion. Click a struck word in the review screen to keep it, or press ⌘Z to undo any choice. To cut a word erm didn’t suggest, switch to Transcript and click it.
- Settings (⌘,) lets you choose which filler words go, add your own, and change how long a pause has to be before it’s shortened.
- Your first 3 videos export free. Exporting a video you’ve already exported is always free. After that, erm is $29.99 once or $19.99 a year; Keep using erm has a Restore purchases button if you’ve already paid.
- Found a bug? Use Help → Report a Bug, or the small bug icon in erm’s top bar, and it opens an email with the details we need.

- What you expected, and what happened instead.
